day one of berlin: mixed 2015

Three courts on an old landing strip, polo friends from all over Europe, streets of Berlin. First time in Berlin since last spring, first real tournament since Barcelona. It was awesome to get my ass kicked again! I hereby end my polo retirement, time to play some more!

A week ago Bike Polo Club Krakow made a trip out of town to visit our own Madej, BPCK player who lives around 60 km from the city. I flipped the wheel on my polo bike (going fixed gear) and rode there on my own, to find all the friends from the Club (and some visitors from Warsaw), cycle through beautiful countryside to the village school court, play polo, then take a swim in a local lake and spend a beautiful evening outside by the fire, having one or two drinks and turning in, in a hammock. Obviously an amazing weekend of polo, friends, cycling, drinks, lakes and beautiful wilderness. Also, it was nice to play out of town, not in a tournament, some veeery laid back polo. Have a look!

So we spent two hours to get rid of the snow and ice today at Polfa.  It also took 60 kilos of road salt.  But we managed and everyone was thrilled to play for the last time in 2014. See you next year, Polfa!
